Nelson* (Boy 10-17)

Age: 15

After Hurricane Matthew, 12-year-old Nelson left his biological family who was unable to provide for him, and went to live with an “aunt” as a child in restavek. He alone has done the household chores, fetching water and doing the washing and cleaning. He is a small, shy under-developed boy with limited speech. He has been physically and psychologically abused and lamented to his new Child Advocate that he cannot defend himself. Nelson dreams of becoming an agronomist someday, and would like help so he can find his mother and go to school.
